Sri Lanka women’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by six wickets in the Asian Games’ cricket competition’s semi-final in Hangzhou, China, on Sunday.

Sri Lanka will now face India in the mega event’s final on Monday at the same venue. While Pakistan women will compete with Bangladesh for the Bronze medal.

Chasing the target of 76 runs, the Islanders had no serious difficulties and despite losing wickets at intervals, they managed to chase it comfortably in 16.3 overs.

Harshitha Samarawickrama top-scored for the winning side by scoring 16 off 34 balls.

Batting first, Pakistan collapsed ineptly and were restricted to 75-9 in 20 overs.

Only three players managed to score in double figures. Skipper Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz and Sidra Ameen couldn’t perform up to the mark and scored 14 runs combined.

Udeshika Prabodhani was the pick of the bowlers for the Lankan side. She took three wickets for 21 runs and made sure that the Green Shirts don’t get to stay on the wicket for long.
